The General Session of SampTA 2017 attracted altogether over 140 submissions. The preliminary program will be announced in May after the early registration date.
Mini-courses given on occasion of SampTA 2017 for doctoral students on July 2 – 4, 2017
All participants who
- submitted the 1-page abstract,
- attended mini-courses lectures on July 2 and plenary lectures on July 3 – 4,
- presented her/his (may be co-authored) poster on July 4
will be granted a 5 ECTS certificate from Tallinn University.
Abstract submission deadline is April 25 (look at http://sampta2017.ee/mini-courses/), registration is open until June 6.
Before and during the conference there will be an opportunity for doctoral students and recent PhD graduates to meet and present their work to each other in an informal manner. Mini-courses will begin on Sunday, July 2, at Tallinn University (Narva Street 29), where three lectures will be given by Ahmed Zayed (De Paul University, USA), Götz Pfander (Philipps-Universität Marburg, Germany) and Mart Min (Tallinn University of Technology, Estonia). Other lectures will be given as joint lectures with SampTA participants on July 3 – 4 including 5 plenary lectures, one of them will be given by Sergio Verdu (Princeton University, USA).
In addition, for participants of Mini-courses there will be a special SampTA poster session dedicated to their Ph.D. or/and research on Tuesday, July 4.
Mini-courses are financed partly by the Estonian Doctoral School of Mathematics and Mathematical Statistics.
In order to apply for the Mini-courses, please, send a one-page abstract of your thesis to the Local Organizing Committee, Maria Zeltser, mariaz@tlu.ee, by no later than April 25, 2017. Abstract should be sent along with a cover letter with an information about the applicant including a short description of PhD studies, advisor’s name, institution and e-mail. Applicants will be accepted on competitive basis as the number of participants is limited to 25 persons. Acceptance notice will be posted by May 1, 2017.
Registration for SampTA and Mini-courses

Early registration fee (until May 12, 2017, valid with the hotel reservation) is 260 Euros and covers the conference materials including program and booklet of abstracts, Welcome Party on Monday, Conference Dinner on Thursday, a half-day excursion on Wednesday afternoon and refreshments during the conference.
Late registration fee (from May 13 to June 5, 2017) is 320 Euros.
Fee for accompanying person(s) is 90 Euros and covers Welcome Party on Monday, Conference Dinner on Thursday and a half-day excursion on Wednesday afternoon.
In exceptional cases, you may agree with the local organizers to pay the regular fee in cash on the conference site. All payments must arrive free of charge for the conference.
Cancellation policy: Those participants who cancel their participation by June 5, 2017, will receive full refund minus a handling fee of 25 Euros. No refunds for later cancellations. All refunds will be processed after the conference.
Confirmation: Your registration will be confirmed by email.
Presentations at SampTA 2017
Papers accepted, covered by a full registration and presented at SampTA 2017 as talks or posters will be submitted to IEEE Conference Publications Program (CPP) for publication on IEEE Xplore.
The papers submitted via EDAS, but not accepted by the Technical Program Committee can be presented in a poster session, but without further publication on IEEE Xplore.

Visa
Nationals of the member states of the European Union (EU) and the European Economic Area (EEA) and any third-country national who is a holder of a residence permit of a Schengen state do not need a visa to enter Estonia. Travel to Tallinn
Arriving by Air
Tallinn Airport (Tallinna Lennujaam, http://www.tallinn-airport.ee/en/) is conveniently located at the edge of the town. The conference venue is only about 4 km away. Tallinn offers convenient direct flights to many important European destinations like Amsterdam, Brussels, Frankfurt, Helsinki, Copenhagen, London, Munich etc.
Arriving by Ferry
Tallinn is well connected to Helsinki, Finland, via multiple ferries per day (traveling time roughly 2 hours, one way ticket about 30 Euros), look at http://www.portoftallinn.com/ or https://laevapiletid.ee/.
Arriving by Bus
International bus lines (Lux Express and Ecolines, look at http://www.bussijaam.ee/en/) offer bus connections between Tallinn and many European cities. Most useful might be Tallinn – Riga (traveling time roughly 4.5 hours, one way ticket about 25 Euros).
