Dear participant of SampTA 2017, you are invited to submit extended version of your presentation to the Sampling Theory in Signal and Image Processing Special issue SampTA 2017.
- Technical side of presentations
In lecture rooms we have projectors/computers for computer presentation and besides a small blackboard (in fact whiteboard for pencils).
Posters have the format A0 841×1189 mm (table is 970 mm * 2000 mm), i.e. portrait.
Free wifi is in all conference rooms as well as in all living rooms of most hotels.
- Conference Venue and Hotels
The conference will take place at the Original Sokos Hotel Viru conference centre, Viru Square 4, Tallinn (City-Centre) (https://www.sokoshotels.fi/en/tallinn/sokos-hotel-viru).
Most participants are accommodated in the Original Sokos Hotel Viru (conf. venue), but also in the Tallinn Hotel Euroopa, Paadi Str. 5 (10 min walk to the conference venue) and in the Tallinn Seaport Hotel, Uus-Sadama Str. 23 (15 min walk to the conference venue).
- Currency / money
Estonia uses euros as almost all EU countries. Almost all shops / restaurants / bars / taxis accept debit/credit cards (Visa, Master card, American Express etc.). The closest (and best) currency exchange service (https://tavid.ee/en/) to Viru Hotel is Tavid, Aia Str. 5 (5 min walk from Viru).
- Arriving by Air
Tallinn Airport is located close to the city centre.
Bus No 2 takes you easily from the airport to the Viru Hotel, the Hotel Euroopa and most city-centre hotels (stop A. Laikmaa (after stop Tornimäe), ca 18 minutes, 2 Euro). If you stay in the Tallinn Seaport Hotel, then you have to take the next stop called Reisisadam D-terminaal (from the airport it takes max 20 min). The Viru Hotel is behind the shopping centre Viru Keskus.
Schedule of Bus No 2: https://soiduplaan.tallinn.ee/#bus/2/a-b/en; a ticket purchased from the driver (at the price of 2 €) will grant you the right for one ride. You can only use cash to buy a ticket from the driver of public transport vehicle. Taxi Airport – Hotel Viru is about 8-10 euros.
On Sunday, July 2 at 8:00 – 15:00 the city centre (Vabaduse Square, Pärnu Road, Viru Square, Narva Road) is closed to public transportation and any traffic due to the Procession of the 12th Youth Song and Dance Celebration (http://2017.laulupidu.ee/en/).
